Lester Andrews Graduate Research Symposium 2025 at MSState

The Chemistry Graduate Student Association (CGSA) in the Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University will host an annual symposium, the Lester Andrews Graduate Research Symposium (LAGRS). This symposium allows graduate and undergraduate students, professors, industry professionals, along with others from various chemical-related fields to gather in pursuit of the facilitation of networking, collaboration, and communication of the sciences. This year, LAGRS will be held on Sept 11th and 12th at Mississippi State University, in Starkville, MS. One of many key highlights of the symposium is the Keynote Lecture from an invited prestigious chemist. The Keynote Speaker for the 2025 LAGRS is Dr. Stephen Miller, from the University of Florida. His work efforts target the synthesis of biorenewable and degradable polymers that mimic petroleum-based plastics. More recently, he has focused on developing a framework called Long Covalent Bond Theory. This year, the symposium’s technical sessions of both oral and poster presentations will be separated between Basic and Applied Chemistry. In Basic Chemistry, the sessions will be Synthesis, Thermodynamics and Kinetics, and Fundamental Chemistry. In Applied Chemistry, the sessions will be Materials Chemistry, Catalytic Systems and Advances in Applied Chemistry. Travel awards will be available to eligible graduate and undergraduate students who can apply via the registration page. Abstract Registration Due: July 15th Early Bird Registration: April 15 – July 30th Additionally, awards for Best Poster and Best Oral Presentation will be giving to outstanding students with interesting and unique advances in chemistry. To register for this event, pricing, more information regarding the 2025 LAGRS, and info on past LAGRS please visit: https://lagrs.chemistry.msstate.edu/ We look forward to seeing the Mississippi community at LAGRS next September!
